To ensure a safe and secure environment during the ECB Forum on Central Banking, please follow these security guidelines. Your cooperation plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of all attendees and ensuring the event runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Stay safe and secure
- Follow security instructions: comply with security screening procedures at entry points and follow all instructions from security personnel.
- Wear your badge at all times: to assist the security personnel, wear your event badge at all times and ensure it is always visible (mandatory as of 29 June at 06:00).
- Do not leave items unattended: never leave your personal belongings unattended.
- Do not post photos of security staff or local authorities online: unless explicitly authorised, refrain from posting photos of security staff or local authorities.
- Report suspicious activity: immediately notify the event security team on +351 926 757 400 if you notice any suspicious behaviour or unattended items.
- In an emergency, call 112: this is the local number for the emergency services.
Protect your badge
- Do not share badge photos online: avoid posting photos of your badge on social media or other online platforms.
- Report lost badges immediately: if you lose your badge, report it immediately to the event security team on +351 926 757 400.
Protect your digital identity
- Beware of scams: watch out for suspicious emails, messages or voice calls pretending to be from event staff – authorised communications will only ever come from email addresses info@ecbforum.eu and ecb.forum.sintra@ecb.europa.eu and from the “ECBForum” SMS account.
- Use strong and unique passwords for event-related platforms: avoid reusing passwords that you use for other services.
- Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA): use MFA for accounts linked to the event to enhance security.
- Do not share access codes: refrain from sharing the Wi-Fi password, or any other security information, with others.
Protect your devices
- Secure digital devices: ensure all your devices are password-protected.
- Ensure all software is up to date: keep operating systems, antimalware tools and browsers up to date with the latest security patches for your devices.
- Disable non-essential features (Bluetooth, geolocation, microphone, camera, etc.): turn off any unnecessary functions on your devices during the event, especially if they are not critical to your work.
- Do not connect to unauthorised Wi-Fi networks: the only authorised Wi-Fi network is ECBForum – other networks might not be as secure.
- Avoid pairing with unfamiliar or public devices: do not pair your wearables or smart gadgets with unfamiliar equipment, public displays, or other participants’ devices.
- Avoid leaving your devices unattended: never leave devices unattended, even for only a brief period of time.
